Ubuntu with Unity

The next distribution that I am looking at is Ubuntu.  Right off the bat I can tell you it's not much different from Debian and Gnome.  The major differences come in with philosophy and focus.  I will get into those a little later.  This one will be a quick run through due to most of the similarities between the last distribution and this one. This is a continuing series and due to the certain similarities I have omitted some install steps.  If you need to reference these you can look at a few of my previous posts.

Your first screen will ask you if you'd like to Try or Install Ubuntu.  I'm running through the install.  It'll tell you to pick your timezone, your languages, and all the standard things to set this up.   Unlike Debian this distribution does not offer the ability to pick a different desktop environment during the install so if you don't like Unity you can install a different desktop environment after the install or you can install a different version of Ubuntu.
You'll pick your names and passwords, do pick a stronger password than what I picked.
Your install will look like this.
Once completed you will have to restart your computer.

So here is your desktop.  A favorites bar down the left side.
 Easy access to you files.
Clicking on the Ubuntu Logo at the top will open up an array of applications.  Clicking on installed will open it up to show you all the programs you have installed.  If you know the name you can easily search for the application as well.
Personalization is very similar to Gnome 3, in which you do not get many options.  What you
get is what you get.  Right click on the desktop, go to settings to change background, font, and screen settings.  Right click in your favorites bar to remove programs. Likewise you can right click on a program and add it to the favorites bar.
In the Debian review I mentioned how other distributions have a software manager, where you can easily find and download new programs.  Here it is.  By clicking on the Orange Bag with an "A" on it you can open up this nifty repository.
Clicking on a category takes you to all the programs that fit that category.  When clicking on the programs you have option to install right there or get more information on the program.
With more information you get a full description, screenshots, sizes and....
 Reviews!!!
Once installed it's easy to just get right into it.

This is all I am doing for Ubuntu with Unity.  I believe with how thorough I was in the Debian overviews and the amount of similarities between the two you won't need as much detail.  A full review will be made; giving background on Ubuntu, how they release their versions, and what I thought about this particular distribution.
